Green Team
TLC IS GOING GREEN
Because of the hard work from the teachers, students and parents of The Lincoln Center, we are pleased to announce that our school has earned Green School Recognition since 2015! We have completed at least 15 energy saving and environmental tasks as a school. Great Job Lions!!
Public Act 301 (2010) updated and revised P.A. 146 (2006) established the Michigan Green Schools program.
A public school in Michigan may apply to be designated a "Green School" by submitting the appropriate information to Wayne RESA. The intent of the Michigan Green Schools Program is to encourage students to participate in activities which help them learn about preserving natural resources, protect the environment and promote energy efficiency and savings. The Lincoln Center has completed all of the necessary requirements to become a Michigan Green School and continues to increase our efforts year after year.
TLC has been recognized as Green by achieving 10 or more energy saving and environmental activities in an academic year. The activities are set up in categories: Recycling, Energy Saving, Environmental Protection and Miscellaneous. TLC is striving to achieve environmental goals which include protecting the air, land, water and animals of our state along with world outreach through good ecological practices and the teaching of educational stewardship of students.
